Adinkra Objects
Adinkra

ADINKRA "A message given to the other who leaves".
ADINKRA is a form of writing left to humanity by our ancestors. They were created in time immemorial. It is a legacy of the ASANTE people. Technically they are ideograms.
Each ADINKRA symbol has a meaning that is associated with some historical event, qualities of an animal or plant life, qualities or human behavior.
In the west coast region of Africa they had a strong ceremonial use. Today the ADINKRA print is an artistic form that conveys messages. But for most Afro-descendant contemporaries these are unintelligible. Therefore, this space-time of speech represents a modest contribution to retaking part of our silenced ancestors.'

Adinkra Objects
From the relationships rooted and awakened in my spirit by the ethical-aesthetic-technological teachings that the adinkra provide, as a techno-science based on Afro orality, the Adinkra Objects series was born.
